Smackdown/Rumors
Hey everyone, I was finally able to confirm the 10 names of the people that were in that battle royal and Cartlito wasn’t one of them. So he won’t be on Smackdown this week.
I also wanted to address the rumors going around about him, that he is unhappy and is wanting a release. As you all know, this has happened a bunch of times and he never ends up leaving. I think the rumors are coming from the fact that he hasn’t been on Smackdown yet. I’m as frustrated about that as anyone. But I don’t think he’d go out and get a new look, new ring gear, etc if he was planning on leaving. Because if he was planning on jumping to TNA for example, they’d want him looking like he did in WWE. So, if he was planning on leaving, why would he bother with a new look? Also, he isn’t the only one who hasn’t been on TV since the draft. Duece, DH Smith and Chuck Palumbo haven’t either. Anyway, I just wanted to address that since I know a lot of the sites are reporting the same thing over and over.

No Smackdown again this week
No Carlito in the spoilers again this week, unless he was one of the participants in a battle royal they had. There were 10 people in it, and I can only find out 7 names.

MyNetworkTV Bio
Carlito spits in the face of people who don’t want to be cool, and apparently, many WWE Superstars fall into the category.
Exceptionally opinionated and full of himself, the second-generation Superstar (who is the son of the legendary Carlos Colon) projects quite the smooth demeanor. Armed with an apple in hand, Carlito isn’t afraid to unload a mouthful of apple and spit it into your face if you’re not cool enough in his eyes.
Of course, WWE Superstars haven’t taken well to Carlito’s cooler-than-thou attitude, which has oozed from the Caribbean native since his dramatic debut in October 2004, when he defeated John Cena for the United States Championship in his very first night on SmackDown.
Carlito found his voice in his own show when “Carlito’s Cabana” debuted in 2005. Irritating and disrespectful to countless Superstars on the Cabana, Carlito maintained his spot as one of the most loathed Superstars on SmackDown.
Fate brought the cool customer and his Cabana to Raw through the Draft Lottery in June 2005, and Carlito made an impact from the get-go. In his first Raw match, the Bad Apple won the Intercontinental Championship from Shelton Benjamin. He would lose the title to Ric Flair at Unforgiven later that year.
By way of the 2008 WWE Draft, Carlito returned anew to SmackDown, where he arguably had his greatest success when he debuted, defeating John Cena.
Carlito is full of potential that has yet to be fully realized. Maybe there is a World Championship in his future. For Carlito, there’s no doubt that – that would be cool

Eddie Colon debuts
As you may have seen last night (or if you blinked, you may have missed it) Eddie Colon debuted on Raw last night. He was introduced backstage but he didn’t get a chance to say much. It was mentioned that he was Carlito’s brother and he will be going by Primo Colon.

Match 5: Carlito vs. The Big Show
To my surprise, Carlito’s music hit and out he comes, with his new corn row hair style, and pleather pants, much like what Rey Mysterio wears.. he also looks like he’s lost a good 25 pounds or so. Then The Big Show’s music hit, which I don’t think anyone was expecting. He got the biggest pop by far. The crowd loved him, and he was taking it all in waving at us and playing to the crowd. Big Show dominated in a squash, hitting a choke slam for the win.

Item from this week’s Wrestling Observer
Since some of the newz sites are using this item from this week’s Wrestling Observer, I thought I’d post it here so you can all read what was actually written. It’s all speculation/opinion on Dave Meltzer’s part so you can treat it as such
Carlito’s long-term with the company is once again a topic being talked about. He hasn’t been on television since the draft. He has a new look, with a goatee and dreads. I saw him on a TV news report from Los Angeles where he did the beach show at Venice Beach on 8/9, and I thought they were talking to a fan because he both looked so different, but also because he looked like a front row fan more than a wrestler. The change in look isn’t to his benefit at all. He has again talked with friends about a release. He can do what he wants in Puerto Rico and be the top singles star working against with Ray Gonzalez, but the downside is the business is dead there and it’s a downer going from working before thousands to a few hundred. The last time he was about to quit, he had talked with AAA about being a full-timer, where he could be the top heel, and he’d do well on U.S. indies as well as NWE. Not sure when his actual contract expires which would be the TNA question, but he has his supporters in TNA since Dutch Mantel has worked with him and TNA does have a goal of trying to expand to the Hispanic audience. But if he goes to TNA, he really needs to change his look back.

I was poking around Youtube and I came across some videos from last month’s WWC show and other videos:
Carlito’s entrance and ring intro
Carlito talking about the match (so HOT! he comes on at the 3:03 mark)
Surprise!
Candid from last night
